A Spitfire pilot with 208 Squadron, Fg Off Jelly died when his aircraft collided in mid-air with another Spitfire flown by Pilot 3 Frank Edwards during a practice interception sortie around the Great Bitter Lake, killing both pilots.
Fg Off Booth had been in the RAF since 1943, most likely after being called up for service on turning 18.
Although the Dutch ceremony officially commemorates all victims of Nazi aggression, our ceremony in Lonneker recognised Fg Off Donne's sacrifice by placing wreathes in the name of all victims at his grave.
