Acrylic Monomers for the Surface Modification of UV-Curable Systems." J.
The fatty phase comprises at least 30% by weight, relative to the total weight of the emulsion, of a volatile fatty phase comprising at least 6% by weight, relative to the total weight of the emulsion, of at least one volatile hydrocarbon oil; and at least one volatile oil chosen from volatile silicone oils and volatile fluorinated
French chemicals company Arkema (EPA:AKE) on Tuesday said it had bought local electroactive fluorinated
polymers start-up company PIEZOTECH, in a drive to widen its fluorinated
heterocyclic compounds; synthesis, chemistry, and applications.
Although a range of more readily handled and selective fluorinating agents is available, in many cases the target molecule may be more conveniently attained in fewer steps by utilizing fluorinated
building blocks available from commercial sources, among which Alfa Aesar offers one of the largest ranges.
Recent research and development activity is focusing on fluorinated
propene (propylene) isomers as potential refrigerants possessing low global warming potentials (GWPs).
Working under the sponsorship of the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the research team developed a method that "separates metallic and semiconducting nanotubes by attaching fluorinated
molecules to their walls," a spokeswoman says, adding that the intended result is to eliminate short-outs in transistors.
The new rules would cover a reported 85 plants and require most chip makers to cut releases of sulfur hexafluoride and other fluorinated
gases by more than half over the next three years.
In the run-up to the stricter environmental standards coming into force in 2011, France's Arkema, a world leader in fluorinated
gases, has developed Forane 1234yf, a new fluorinated
fluid with a low GWP designed to gradually replace HFC 134a currently used in automotive air-conditioning circuits.
In addition to more common fluorinated
olefin-based polymers, specially jliioroacrylates, fiuorosilicane acrylates, fluoraure-thanes, and peifluoropolyctliers/perihioropolyoxc'ianes have been found to exhibit properties of interest for coatings applications.
A new fully fluorinated
liquid silicone rubber from Dow Corning, Midland, Mich., combines the easy processing of LSR and the high temperature and fuel resistance of fluorosilicone rubber (FSR).
Prior to the development of fluorinated
agents, the only practical inhalational anaesthetics, apart from nitrous oxide, ethylene and cyclopropane, (and a few others of short-lived popularity like acetylene), were non-halogenated ethers and chlorinated hydrocarbons such as chloroform, trichloroethylene and ethyl chloride.
