After proving her full-length mettle off-Broadway and at Jacob's Pillow, and taking on everything from Fox's live TV broadcast of Rent to a Lamentation Variation for the Martha Graham Dance Company, she's celebrating her Broadway debut this summer with Moulin Rouge!
The campus contains 384 affordable homes as well as large and small commercial spaces rented to artists of all disciplines, including the Martha Graham Dance Company and the New School University's graduate theater department.
Robert Cohan joined the Martha Graham Dance Company in 1946 and left it 23 years later when he was invited by Robin Howard to become the first Artistic Director of the Contemporary Dance Trust in London and as such was the founder Artistic Director of The Place, London Contemporary Dance School and London Contemporary Dance Theatre, which he directed for over 20 years.
Coincidentally, Beltran won third place in the 2009 Clytemnestra ReMash Challenge organized by the Martha Graham Dance Company. The worldwide competition tasked contestants to recreate any of five solos featured in Graham's 1958 masterwork "Clytemnestra." She and Ballet Philippines artistic director Paul Morales submitted a black-and-white entry titled "Clytemnestra-Manila '58," with Beltran as dancer and Morales as director and editor.
