1. A hygroscopic viscous colorless liquid, C2H7NO, having a strong ammoniacal odor and used in acid gas scrubbers, in hide and hair treatments, and as a surfactant and emulsifier.
2. A class of sedative antihistamines that are ethanolamine derivatives, such as dimenhydrinate and diphenhydramine.
