Prince Edward Island

Abbr. PE or PEI
A province of southeast Canada consisting of Prince Edward Island in the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence. French settlement of the island (then called Île St. Jean) began in the 1720s, and it joined the confederacy in 1873. Charlottetown is the capital and the largest city.
