Published Tuesday in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, the (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/2016GL072110/abstract;jsessionid=A7932657933FA7485ECE1F3164EDE13E.f02t03) new study found the flow of glaciers in Western Palmer Land - the southwestern corner of the Antarctic Peninsula - to have "increased by between 20 and 30 centimeters per day" between 1992 and 2016, averaging to about 13 percent increase in glacier speeds in the region.
Derek Goode, from Pontypridd, put together a 70lb catch and Cardiff angler Jim Palmer landed barbel to 5lb.
Palmer landed last year's Vintage Stakes with Galileo Gold, who has gone on to 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace success, and that race has proved a reliable proving ground for future stars in recent years.
