Peach-tree borer

(Zool.) the larva of a clearwing moth (Ægeria exitiosa, or Sannina, exitiosa) of the family Ægeriidæ, which is very destructive to peach trees by boring in the wood, usually near the ground; also, the moth itself. See Illust. under Borer.
