An inlet of the Yellow Sea on the northeast coast of China formed by the Shandong and Liaodong Peninsulas. Its western arm is Bohai Bay.

6, 2009 (CENS) -- After applying to establish a branch in Suzhou of Jiangsu Province, Mega International Commercial Bank, a government-linked bank in Taiwan, is eying the cities in the Pohai Gulf region, including Tianjin, Shenyang and Dalian, with the latter two being major cities in Liaoning Province, northern China.
Insiders said Mega is Taiwan's first state-run bank wishing to tap the financial market in Pohai Gulf region.
Wang Jung-chou, chairman of the bank, disclosed that more than 20 of its major business clients have already expanded to the Pohai Gulf region, including Uni-President Group, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ting Hsin International Group, and Eternal Chemical Co.
Taiwanese enterprises in China are located mainly in four areas: Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, Fujian Province, and Pohai Gulf region.
