The
Remote Access feature will provide enhanced wireless connectivity with PCs, tablets, and smartphones - allowing consumers to remotely control compatible programs and apps through their Samsung Smart TV.

Samsung has partnered with VMware in order to enjoy seamless connectivity between various platforms with the idea being that users will be able to continue their work "anywhere in the world." In order to ensure security, Samsung says that it has integrated its proprietary Knox security technology into
Remote Access. The company claims that its proprietary security technology Knox has been certified by Common Criteria for its security performance and claims that it is the only security solution in the TV industry to receive the certification.
However, despite its advantages, implementing
remote access technology is not without complications.
Remote access reduces the cost and time needed for maintenance and troubleshooting and can reduce downtime.
It has the additional capability to work as a server allowing for
remote access.
Remote access through the cMT viewer application (or EasyAccess 2.0 and OPC-UA and MQTT compatibility) provides unlimited control and monitoring capabilities, saving travel time and costs and making for a more efficient work/time experience.
As such, HOB X11Gate requires less bandwidth, which significantly increases the speed of the
remote access, making remote working more effective and convenient.
Although the
remote access is still via browser, in most cases this access is more full-featured than with a simple HMI, allowing remote users to view more information in a wider variety of formats.
