Oral rizatriptan, the most well studied triptan in the pediatric population, is approved for use in children as young as 6 years (49); the pediatric dosage is 5 mg/d for patients weighing 20 to 39 kg and 10 mg/d for patients weighing more than 40 kg (same as the adult dosage).
