Sydney, Australia, April 29, 2013 - (ABN Newswire) - Indochine Mining Limited (ASX:IDC) provides the opportunity to view and listen to a video broadcast with Stephen Promnitz, CEO, regarding the recently reported high-grade gold mineralisation from the Western Roscoelite Bonanza Zone at the company's Mt Kare Gold-Silver Project in Papua New Guinea, in a presentation titled:
The mineral Roscoelite was named after him, in recognition of its vanadium content and Roscoe's work on that element.
One of the primary objectives is to find the source of the Mt Kare mineralization, particularly the high grade Western Roscoelite Zone and the Black Zone which are believed to form from very deep underground.
Sydney, Australia, April 24, 2013 - (ABN Newswire) - Indochine Mining Limited (ASX:IDC) is pleased to report further high-grade gold mineralisation from the first four drill holes targeting the Western Roscoelite Bonanza Zone (WRZ) at the company's 1.8 M oz Au Mt Kare Gold-Silver Project in Papua New Guinea.
Other unusual minerals of note in those orebodies are the relatively rare vanadium oxides karelianite, nolanite, and schreyerite, as well as the vanadium mica roscoelite.
Mineralogists of the 19th century were much more successful in the description of new layer hydrosilicates: allophane, amesite, antigorite, aspidolite, batavite, biotite /a series name/, celadonite, chamosite, chrysotile /a series name/, clinochlore, corundophyllite, cronstedtite, delessite, diabantite, ephesite, glauconite /a series name/, halloysite, kaolinite, muscovite, nacrite /a polytype/, nontronite, palygorskite, paragonite, penninite /or pennine/, phengite /a series name/, phlogopite, polylithionite, pyrophyllite, ripidolite, roscoelite, saponite, sauconite, sepiolite, serpentine, siderophyllite, stevensite, tainiolite, thuringite, vermiculite /trioctahedral and dioctahedral, distinguished in the 20th century/, volkonskoite, zinnwaldite /a series name/.
Drilling continues on bonanza targets in the Western Roscoelite Zone and these results will be released as they come to hand during March and April 2013.
Stage II includes deposition of milky to smoky quartz, pale purple fluorite, fine-grained pyrite, specular hematite, dolomite or ankerite, celestine, barite, roscoelite, sphalerite, galena, tetrahedrite, calaverite, krennerite, sylvanite, petzite, hessite, and native gold.
The pipe like structure of the high grade mineralised zone (>500 gram-metres) is shown in Figure 3 with most holes in or at the margins of this feature showing a similar pattern of mineralisation where quartz roscoelite occurs in a 3 to 5 metre band at or near the base with a thick blanket of high silver mineralisation above.
