Texas Instruments Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) division (TIRIS) has changed its name to Texas Instruments RFID Systems (TI*RFID) to create, according UK sales manager Dave Hyslop, "a single name that links Texas Instruments' global leadership more closely with our RFID business."
TI became the first multi-national semiconductor company to market RFID Systems with the introduction of TIRIS (Texas Instruments Registration and Identification System) in 1991.
