The climb to the summit will start early on the sixth day as it will take eight hours to reach Uhuru Peak and the descent to Mweka will begin almost immediately.

The route starts in a rain forest zone in Machame Gate at 1,640m, passing through low Alpine, high Alpine and glacial zone on the fifth day in Barafu Camp (4,680m) before reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m).
