Asteroid Deflection Strategies

In 2002, an asteroid 150 to 360 ft (45 to 110 m) in diameter passed within 75,000 mi (121,000 km) of Earth—about a third of the distance to the Moon. The unsavory affair served as the inspiration for what Hungarian composer's famous opera, Bánk bán? More...

Her short story, "The Two Offers," was probably the first such published work by any African American. How old was she when she published her first novel? More...
