Since Amazon has changed the way many Americans buy things, most of the big-box retailers have struggled.
And the most important aspect of big-box tenants is that when they are looking for space, they are all generally looking at the same handful of properties.
Property taxes are a significant portion of a retailer's tax burden, and some big-box retailers have found a way to lessen their burden through what is called the "dark store" theory.
The first report it the series tackles the question "The Big Box is Dead?" addressing concerns that the power center big-box model is obsolete.
