A case of an
intussuscepted neuroendocrine carcinoma of the appendix.
Long-Term Followup of the
Intussuscepted Ileal Nipple and the In Situ, Submucosally Embedded Appendix as Continence Mechanisms of Continent Urinary Diversion With the Cutaneous Ileocecal Pouch (Mainz Pouch I).
A single laparoscopic endostapler (3.5 mm, 2.0 mm staple thickness, blue load) was used to perform linear resection of the cecum including the
intussuscepted appendix so as to avoid the ileocecal valve (Figure 3).
Intussuscepted intestinal loop was not able to palpate per-rectally in all cows.
Adjacent to this adhesion, the
intussuscepted segment of the ileum was identified (Figure 3).
The esophagus was observed to be
intussuscepted into the stomach (Figure 2(b)), and then this combination was further invaginated into the duodenum (Figure 2(a)) forming a second intussusception.
Therefore, if CT shows that the cecum or cecal lipoma has
intussuscepted into the far distal colon, mobile cecum syndrome should be considered before emergency laparotomy.
Although the mass was not located in the
intussuscepted segment in the case presented herein, it was identified by the intussusception that it caused.
3 (A & B): Non contrast enhanced CT scan axial images shows Target shaped (White open arrow in A) /Sausage shaped (White open arrow in B) soft tissue mass with alternating areas of low and high attenuation in left iliac fossa, umbilical, pelvic region of abdomen representing the
intussuscepted segment.
Extended dissection of the porta hepatis and creation of an
intussuscepted ileocaecal conduit for biliary atresia.
Extended dissection of the portahepatis and creation of an
intussuscepted ileocolic conduit for biliary atresia.
At surgery, reduction of the
intussuscepted bowel segment should not be attempted due to the risk of tumour spillage.
