Egyptian style
A late eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century style in France and the US, much influenced by ancient Egypt, emphasizing martial glory, the letter N (for Napoleon), the swan (Josephine’s favorite), gilt bronze, and mahogany. It was revived in the US in the 1860s and 1870s.
