Spartacists
“Spartakusbund” 1916–19 A German revolutionary socialist group led by Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht 1871–1919, and named for Spartacus, the leader of the 73 BC slave revolt against Rome. It formed the nucleus of the German Communist Party and was bloodily suppressed in 1919 with its leaders being killed.
