The main La Esperanza vein, located in the southeast of the project area, is an epithermal vein with silver, gold, zinc and lead mineralization associated with argentiferous
galena, silver sulfosalt minerals and sphalerite.
Last year the value of pig-lead and argentiferous
galenas shipped East amounted--exclusive of silver contained--to about $4,000,000, while the yield of copper was about $1,000,000.
The deposits contain the important silver ore minerals, argentite and pyrargyrite, as well as argentiferous
galena and antimonial silver minerals, the latter in their deeper portions.
Copper and argentiferous
lead ores were raised; the latter, of value principally for its silver, was also used in the processing of copper ores from the other mines.

While most of the Husky mineralization consists of typical argentiferous
galena hosted by siderite breccia, another unusual assemblage is also present in places.
Apart from argentiferous
(silver bearing) lead minerals, the district also hosts numerous occurrences and deposits containing silver sulfosalts and in some cases, native silver," said Nauman of Alexco.
The lower levels contained barite, sphalerite and argentiferous
galena in a ratio of 30:10:1, but the upper part of the vein was mainly barite with manganese oxides.
The earliest workings for argentiferous
galena probably date to the early 1700s, but after the mid-1880s, mining concentrated primarily on fluorite.
Byproducts include copper cathodes from in-situ leaching of copper ores, and silver-and-copper cements from leaching of argentiferous
About 10,000 tons of slightly argentiferous
lead concentrate were produced.
