SUKKUR -- Municipal CommisAsioner Pir Wahid Bux along with assistant commissioner (city) and anti-encroachment staff on Friday served an eviction order to the office-bearers of the Sukkur Press Club and sealed off the building, which is to be demolished in pursuance of a Sindh High Court order pertaining to the removal of encroachments from all amenity plots.

The law provides that in the event an eviction order is issued against a tenant of a residence or a shop the order is not enforceable against any sub-tenant unless the court is satisfied that the tenant was prevented from sub-letting the premises under the tenancy agreement.
When an eviction order is executed, a marshal takes possession of the property within the premises, prepares a written inventory of all items inside, stores the items for a specified amount of time, and then allows the evicted tenant to later retrieve their items.
