nTin of Nestle Carnation caramel n 2 bananas n600ml double cream nShot of dark rum (I used a miniature) METHOD 1 Open the flan case
and place on a serving plate, spread the caramel generously on the base.
1 Take a ready-made 25cm sponge flan case
(you can get them for 82p at Asda) and use a 20cm metal cake ring to cut the edges of the flan ring away.
Line the flan case
with foil, fill with baking beans and bake in a preheated oven, 200degC (400degF), Gas Mark 6, for about 15 minutes until the pastry has begun to form a slight crust.
Whisk together eggs, cream, milk, laverbread and seasoning and pour into the flan case
For the milk chocolate tart: 300g shortcrust pastry 20g butter 200g milk chocolate 150ml single cream 50ml full-cream milk A pinch of Maldon salt 11/2 fresh, free-range eggs, beaten For the dark chocolate sauce: 150g bitter chocolate, broken into small pieces; 50ml double cream; 1 tbsp golden syrup; a small knob of butter; a pinch Maldon salt For the white chocolate ganache: 210g white chocolate, broken into small pieces 100ml double cream A pinch of Maldon salt Extras: 1x 8" tart or flan case
Baking beans A little cocoa for dusting Method: For the chocolate sauce, whisk the ingredients together in a bowl set over gently simmering water until it becomes smooth and glossy.
Cover the bottom of the flan case
with the onions, add the chopped watercress then pour over the cheese and egg mixture.
Spoon the mixture into the flan case
and sprinkle with the remaining parmesan.
To blind bake you must make a circle of parchment slightly larger than the flan case
Beat the cheese, egg yolk and soured cream together, then pour into the flan case
Place the fish and courgettes in the bottom of the flan case
and sprinkle over the cheese.
Roll out the pastry into a deep flan case
or a pasty ring, let the pastry overlap the edges, line it with cling film and fill with baking beans, bake for 15 minutes at 175 C
Spoon into the cooked flan case
and carefully place in the oven.
