Assistant chief constable Ian Shannon said: "North Wales Police did not, and does not under or misrecord
serious violent crime as has been erroneously stated in recent reports.
Due to their involvement in murder (see Note 9), the police may misrecord
murders or not record them at all.
Accordingly, in both theory and practice, even if one custodian misrecords
an over-the-counter stock exchange, the fidelity of the record is maintained, with the majority of sibling databases "voting" to resolve the conflict.
