The Azolla species present in aquatic ecosystem of Kashmir has been identified as Azolla cristsa on the basis of presence of bicelled trichomes, hook shaped, multiseptate
glochidia, and a 3-float megaspore apparatus with a granular perine surface (Ahad et al., 2012).
The genus is characterized by dark brown to black or bluish to greenish thyriothecia, with the peridium composed of an irregular meandering arrangement of compact hyphae, and multiseptate
ascospores (Wu et al., 2011, 2014; Hyde et al., 2013).
Ultrasonic findings can suggest the diagnosis when numerous thick-walled, multiseptate
, and predominantly fluid-filled masses are present throughout the abdomen without evidence of visceral invasion or metastases.
Caption: Figure 1: (a-b) CT axial images show pulmonary artery with multiseptate
hydatid cysts (red arrows), seen in the right main pulmonary artery and the lower lobar branches of the right pulmonary artery, along with other parenchymal cysts (blue arrows).
On imaging, the more vascular Antoni A areas appear as enhancing solid components, whereas Antoni B areas frequently occur as nonenhancing cystic or multiseptate
gallbladder is a rare congenital malformation of the gallbladder, which is characterised by the bridging of multiple septa in a honeycomb pattern within the gallbladder lumen (2).
While the normal gallbladder contained only bile, the duplicate gallbladder was multiseptate
and contained multiple calculi (Figure 2).
Computed Tomography (CT) scan report described a lobulated well-defined multiseptate
lesion, measuring 18.9 x13.3 x8.5 cm, in the left posterior mediastinum in paravertebral location (Figure-2 and 3) The features of the lesion were highly compatible with hydatid cyst Serological work-up for hydatid cyst was negative.
Multiloculated or multiseptate
abscessesnot amenable to percutaneous drainage.
(4) CT shows large, thinwalled, multiseptate
An MR showed a well-defined expansile, multiseptate
metaphyseal lesion in the lower end of radius with fluid-fluid levels suggestive of an ABC.
Images characterized by unilocular, simple cyst with uniform anechoic content and visible cyst wall, some exhibiting a snowflake image (7 images <5 cm, 42 images ranging from 5 to 10 cm, and 26 images >10 cm) were observed in 75 patients; they were determined to be Type CE1 (7 CE1s, 42 CE1m, 26 CE1l); In 54 patients, images exhibited multivesicular or multiseptate
cysts with a wheel-like appearance; others displayed unilocular cysts with daughter cysts with a honeycomb appearance.
