When it comes to training and development of the workforce, L&D leaders are often faced with a big challenge of whether to design and create proprietary eLearning courses and content or source "Off-the-Shelf
" courses from a ready library within an LMS.
In a proof-of-concept paper, researchers from North Carolina State University detail a new approach for creating multi-junction solar cells using off-the-shelf
components, resulting in lower cost, high-efficiency solar cells for use in multiple applications.
According to the company, the "off-the-shelf
" activated Natural Killer (NK) cell platform is designed to destroy cancer and virally infected cells from the body.
"Given the challenges associated with currently available patient-sourced and adult donor cell therapies, we believe there is an important need for next-generation, allogeneic, off-the-shelf
immunotherapies that are more tolerable, accessible, and affordable to patients and the healthcare system."
"Our main strengths would be offering an off-the-shelf
solution to a customer.
So how is it that equipping what is essentially an off-the-shelf
device with faster motors and larger rotors can be so costly?
"This partnership with ONO enables Fate to further enhance its expertise in targeting solid tumors and to accelerate the global development of our pipeline of off-the-shelf
, iPSC-derived CAR-T cell product candidates."
(It is not that easy because there are no off-the-shelf
Kaufman has identified several CAR constructs optimized for NK cell signaling, persistence and cytotoxicity, and combined his targeting content with Fate Therapeutics' induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) product platform for development of off-the-shelf
CAR-targeted NK cell products using clonal engineered master pluripotent cell lines.
The new Hardware Partner Program will supplement our existing hardware ecosystem by offering more choices of off-the-shelf
hardware to our customers, and thus help them in speedy project development."
We've seen a fair number of providers make changes to the glide paths of their off-the-shelf
funds over the years, and, from a fiduciary angle, sponsors may not want that to happen."
