Nickel usually occurs in nature as sulphide or oxide forms and its concentrates commonly contain different proportions of iron sulphides (pyrite and pyrrhotite) and nickel (pentlandite).
Fine grained nickel and copper sulphides indentified in petrography included pentlandite, millerite and chalcopyrite in association with pyrrhotite and pyrite.
During recent field programs surface outcrops were found to contain a nickel-bearing minerals pentlandite and phyrrotite (magnetic pyrite) which are often associated with nickel sulphides.
The researchers are now working on altering the polystyrene to make it stick to pentlandite, a common nickel-bearing ore.
Cd was detected in sphalerite and Cd-Zn-sulfide, Ni in pentlandite, and traces of Ni, Cu, Zn, V, and Cr in pyrites [9, 10].

The minerals occur as metacrystals, veinlets and polymineralic intergrowths of sperrylite [PtAs.sub.2], the atokite-rustenburgite series [(Pd,Pt).sub.3] Sn, paolovite [Pd.sub.2]Sn, and domains of [Pd.sub.2](Sn,As), [Pd.sub.5] [As.sub.2] and [(Pd,Ni).sub.5][As.sub.2].
