One eager couple of re-enactors, Paul and Lindsay Blessing, were so keen not to miss out on the weekend's events they even brought along their tiny nine-day-old baby girl Anwen - by far the youngest ever member of the Battle of Crogen.

In a statement, it said: "We understand why re-enactors are upset and are sorry that after so many years of working together we've been forced to make this very difficult decision."
