Chemists and materials scientists explain crystal growth in intermetallics from such perspectives as phase diagrams for the crystal growth of intermetallics, single crystal growth of intermetallics by the Czochralski method, chemical vapor transport of intermetallics, crystal growth of the filled skutterudite arsenides by the flux method under enhanced vapor pressure, high-quality single crystal growth in heavy fermion compounds, and electronic transport properties of complex intermetallics.

Cobalt is a chemical element obtained in combination with other elements in minerals such as skutterudite (a cobalt-nickel arsenide), carrollite (a copper-cobalt-(nickel) sulfide), and asbolane (a nickel-cobalt-manganese oxide).
In soil, As is present in the form of oxides, hydroxide, chlorides, and sulfides, such as enargite ([Cu.sub.3]As[A.sub.4]), cobaltite (CoAsS), and skutterudite (CoAs[S.sub.4]) and its average concentration in different regions of the world is 9.36 mg [kg.sup.-1].
Dull black but of excellent dendritic form, the pseudomorphic "trees" range from thumbnail to small-cabinet size, and some have sharp cubes of acanthite and/or skutterudite reposing on them.
He announced in that Bismuth-like behaviour revealed the following natural minerals: Bleiglanz (Galena, PbS), Schwefelkies (Pyrite, Fe[S.sub.2]), Kupferkies (Chalcopyrite, CuFe[S.sub.2]), Arsenikkies (Arsenopyrite, AsFeS), Kupfernickel (Nickeline, NiAs), weisser Speiskobalt (white Skutterudite, (Co,Ni) [As.sub.3-x]).
