Somatic cell count in milk was determined using measuring device "Somascope
" (CA-3A4, 2004; Delta Instruments, the Netherlands), which operates on the principle of flow cytometry technology.
In order to determine the SCC, milk samples were collected, after discarding the first three milk streams, in flasks containing Bronopol, which were submitted to flow cytometry (SomaScope
MKII, Delta Instruments, Wilmington, USA).
Smart combines the latest flow cytometer (FC) technology with light emitting diodes (LEDs), providing stable measurements over a length of time without the need for frequent gain adjustments as with other FCs.
