The decreasing of interfacial tension on border "water/diesel fuel" in the presence of 0.5 wt % sorbitan monooleate of various manufacturers has been determined using the semi-dynamic method and using the back stalagmometer. Using the chosen emulsifiers and the dynamic mixer the emulsions have been prepared for which the "life time" [tau] at temperature of 25[degrees]C, i.e.
Refractive indices (by Abbe's refractometer), viscosity (using viscometer), surface tension (by Stalagmometer) and relative density were also determined for these new compounds as yet not reported in literature.
Surface tension was measured with a drop weight method (Stalagmometer instruments).
