Study patients were divided into two groups according to contrast sensitivity testing and
static perimetry results.
Localized visual field defects were observed in the right eye on automatic
static perimetry (Octopus 500), while the left eye was normal.
Static perimetry, rather than kinetic perimetry, has since become the accepted standard, and the introduction of the automatic perimeter brought less reliance on the perimetrist for reliable results.
