"From the Forest to the Sea: Emily Carr in British Columbia" was designed to accompany an exhibition organized by the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London and the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto, and gathers work from all phases of this extraordinary artist's career ranging from her delicate early watercolors of the 1890s, to her expressive hybrids of the 1930s and 1940s, which carry European and North American Modernist traditions with the formal stylizations
of Indigenous design.

and tastes to a more open crowd and through that build an audience for their fashion sense,” said Karol.
The writing team decided that the musical score and songs would serve the same purpose as the visual cues and stylizations
of Haynes's film, which is part homage, part deconstruction of 1950sera Hollywood weepies like Douglas Sirk's All That Heaven Allows and Imitation of Life.
Also suggesting the movement's precariously unified style are Frederick Etchells's Stilts, 1914-15, and Helen Saunders's paintings, with Gaudier Brzeska's work--ranging from decorative stylizations

The tone and the extended quotes from seventeenth-century documents (preserving the spelling and stylizations
of the period) will make the work unattractive to a casual reader.
For everyone else, TV stylizations
and predictable developments are unlikely to impress, though the overall force of the story still gets driven home.
His imaginative stylizations
of their dances, first Russian, but later taking dances from all over the world--including the American square dance, traditionally the troupe's final encore --as his artistic oyster, are matchless in their style and theatricality.
A particularly unpalatable consequence of these stylizations
is clearly brought out by Figure 3: the larger the figure, the larger the margin of inaccuracy.
Other names dropped frequently in reference to Calvin are Philip Guston and David Hockney, and these alignments prove equally hard to dismiss--even if the resemblances are primarily formal ones suggested by Calvin's cartoonlike stylizations
and ice-cream palette.
Rather than a true collaboration, the project too often gives the impression of the Africans, an internationally renowned group of musicians and dancers, serving as visual and aural window dressing for LINES's dynamic stylizations
on classical ballet.
Minelli deploys a variety of stylizations
and stereotypes to create a nostalgic rainbow coalition of silent talking heads from a nonexistent global village--tribal cannibal (all works 2004), wealthy flapper, efficient mid-level manager--that convey everything and nothing through contradictory looks.
