and rugose corals have also been recorded from the argillaceous and crinoidal grainstone beds in the top part of the Takche Formation.
There the limestone is associated with abundant crinoids, brachiopods, and trilobites as well as common ostracodes and tentaculites
. In addition dolomite is also abundant while micrite and sparite are common and clay and pyrite are rare (Cap et al., 2003).
It was a modestly flat surface of limestone riddled with ancient fossils brachiopods, corals, and mollusks called tentaculites
. Similar fossils were exposed in the seven-foot-high hearth my father built using the best specimens gathered from our property and local ditches.
Based on the fossils present, including rugose corals and tentaculites
, that limestone is either Columbus or Delaware limestone, and was probably quarried in the Sandusky area, in Sandusky County, OH.
Collections made from weathered surface exposures along the banks of drainage ditches at this location include, in descending abundance and diversity, brachiopods (e.g., Callipleura sp., Chonetes sp., Mucrospirifer prolificus, Schizoporia ferronensis), anthozoans (e.g., Aulopora sp., Heliophyllum halli bellense, Pluerodictyum cornu), bryozoans, crinoids (Gennaeocrinus variabilis), ostracods, trilobites (Phacops rana), bivalves (?Cornellites sp.), and tentaculids (Tentaculites
The upper part of the interval (58.5-62.0 m) is represented by laminate, argillaceous, Eurypterus-dolostone with rare, thin intercalations of micritic, and litho-bioclastic, dolomitized limestones consisting of the particles of bryozoans, ostracodes, and smooth-test tentaculites
. The lower part of the unit (62.0-65.7 m) consists of interlayering argillaceous dolomicrite and dolomitized, litho-bioclastic floatstone to argillaceous wackestone with frequent pyritized discontinuity surfaces.
Locally, accumulations of silt-size quartz grains and identified relicts of calcareous bioclasts, such as ostracods and tentaculites, are observed.
4IIC, D) are grey, rich in skeletal debris dominated by tentaculites, ostracods, brachiopods and subordinately by corals.
On the genera Cornulites and Tentaculites

Tentaculites, Towe 1978) of problematic tubeworms are as advanced and complex as the lamello-fibrillar structures of some serpulids (Vinn et al.
