Joint Doctrine Working Party
A forum to include representatives of the Services, combatant commands, and the Joint Staff (represented by the Operational Plans and Joint Force Development Directorate, J-7, Joint Staff) that meets at least semiannually to address, vote and make recommendations on project proposals; discuss key joint doctrinal or operational issues; keep up to date on the status of the joint publication projects and emerging publications; and keep abreast of other initiatives of interest to the members. The Joint Doctrine Working Party meets under the sponsorship of the Director, Joint Staff/J-7. Also called JDWP. See also joint doctrine; joint publication; joint test publication.
