These unidentifiable groups include larval smelts (7 species in the family Osmeridae), rockfishes (65 species), sanddabs (2 species of the genus Citharichthys), and snailfishes (17 species of the genus
Liparis) (Richardson et al., 1980; Matarese et al., 1989; Love et al., 2002; Auth et al., 2011).
The two newly recorded terrestrial orchids Habenaria dentata in Hapcheon County, Gyeongsangnam Province (Lee et al., 2013b) and
Liparis pterosepala on Jeju Island (Lee et al., 2010) were not listed in KNA (2012) and MOE (2014), but they are extremely rare in South Korea.
Only 3 from them (
Liparis loeselii (L.) Rich., Neottianthe cuculiata (L.) Schltr., Orchis militaris L.) are hemistenobiont.
It is anticipated that this could result in the local extinction of some Arctic fish species, such as the gelatinous snailfish (
Liparis fabricii) and even the most abundant Arctic species, the Polar cod (Boreogadus saida).

In the previous studies, several GNA-related lectins, such as Polygonatum cyrtonema lectin (PCL), Ophiopogon japonicus lectin (OJL) and
Liparis noversa lectin (LNL), were reported to possess remarkable anti-proliferative and apoptosis-inducing activities toward various cancer cells (Liu et al., 2009a, 2009b, 2009c, 2009d; Wang et al., 2011).
