sodium cromoglycate,
nedocromil sodium, pemirolast, and lodoxamide; (3) Dual acting agents - they have both antihistaminic and mast cell stabilizing properties, e.g., olopatadine, ketotifen, azelastine, and epinastine; (4) Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, e.g., ketorolac, diclofenac, and flurbiprofen; (5) Corticosteroids, e.g., prednisolone, hydrocortisone, fluorometholone, loteprednol, and desonide.
Nedocromil sodium exerts its anti-inflammatory and anti-asthmatic effect by inhibiting the activation and activity of multiple inflammatory cells, including mast cells, eosinophils, airway epithelial cells and sensory neurons.
Finally, 8 RCTs compared topical mast cell stabilizers (sodium cromoglycate, lodoxamide, and
nedocromil sodium) with levocabastine, a topical antihistamine.

If symptoms persist, topical antiallergic medications with twice daily dosing (olopatadine hydrochloride 0.1%, epinastine hydrochloride 0.05% or
nedocromil sodium 2%) can be prescribed (by the patient's GP or by optometrists with therapeutic qualifications) to allow patients to continue contact lens wear.
Eye drops containing drugs such as sodium cromoglicate and
nedocromil sodium help prevent cells becoming sensitised and are used to reduce the eye symptoms of hayfever such as redness, itching and watering.
(22) In a study administered by the
Nedocromil Sodium Quality of Life Study Group, (23) it was found that the SIP failed to detect an improvement in health, but found a clinically significant improvement in health using the SGRQ.
Cromolyn sodium,
nedocromil sodium and corticosteroids are examples of anti-inflammatory medications currently available to treat asthma.
The physicians following the guidelines used a visual analog scale to gauge symptoms as mild, moderate, or severe and used up to three therapies to treat depending on severity: 20 mg of ebastine (an oral antihistamine available in Europe that has been shown to be as effective as cetirizine) once daily; 220 [micro]g of triamcinolone acetonide once daffy; and for moderate to severe conjunctivitis,
nedocromil sodium 2% eyedrops twice daily.

Nedocromil sodium such as Rapitil can help relieve the symptoms which affect the eyes.
Nedocromil sodium (Tilade[R]) is a mast cell stabilizer that acts as an anti-inflammatory agent.
